There she will become nurserymaid, chaperone and confidante to the Mitford sisters, especially sixteen-year-old Nancy &#8211; an acerbic, bright young woman in love with stories.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>But then a nurse &#8211; Florence Nightingale Shore, goddaughter of her famous namesake &#8211; is killed on a train in broad daylight, and Louisa and Nancy find themselves entangled in the crimes of a murderer who will do anything to hide their secret . . .<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Review<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a pretty exciting murder mystery set in 1919.<br>The ending is pretty good, but unfortunately the plot moves along at a really slow pace at times. The heroine, Louisa Cannon, gets together with a police officer, Guy, but their romance is only hinted at in the book.
